Hi folks,
just hope someone can help.....
I want to install the indi-ocs driver from the 3rd party repository at the following git:
LuckyEddie47/indi-3rdparty ocs branch.....
I'm running Fedora 38 in intel core i7, 16Gb ram....
Many thanks,
Terry
Hi Terry,
As I still haven't got my observatory built, I have only tested the OCS driver on the bench and therefore haven't progressed to have it merged into the formal release. This means that you'll have to clone my github repository that you listed above and build the driver from source. If you're not comfortable with building from source let me know and I'll try to help.
Ed
Hi Ed,
thanks for getting back to me. Things are a bit strange....I've just done a fresh install of Ubuntu. I built everything from source, cloned your git. Ekos doesn't find the driver.....If I rename the .xml and exe files as talon6, it is found, and I can see the teensy. I'm not a great fan of 'bodging'...so if you have any suggestions... My obsy is running on raspberries and relay boards, so hopefully this solution will tidy up the rats nest electrics.....
Terry
It's probably due to missing the entry in the indi drivers.xml file. I'm not certain but I think that file lives in the indi project as opposed to indi-3rdparty.
Try adding this to the 'Domes' devGroup in that file:
Hi Ed,
tried adding to the /usr/share/indi/drivers.xml and /usr/share/kstars/indidrivers.xml filed, and still the same. The driver just doesn't show up.....
If I have to cheat for now to get things running, so be it.

Please check that you have the built indi_ocs binary file in /usr/bin/ and the indi_ocs.xml file in /usr/share/indi/ (assuming the install paths are the same as my system).
Hi Ed,
everything was in the right place......tried re-compiling and installing....still no go. Finally I re-installed kstars from their git, and it has picked it up....good news...now to finish off the controller......
