How can I enable guiding settle after calibration, similar to guiding settle after resuming guiding?
Now I mostly have to delete the first light after initial calibration and also after MF.
If you are having issues on the first guiding samples after focus, or I suppose calibration, I'd recommend using capture's limit constraints.
I believe those need to be saved into the rows of your capture sequence (e.g. for each row in the table, you'd double click the row, set the limit constraint, and click the checkbox at the top, and then optionally save the sequence to a file if you want to reload it later).
I did already enable the 'Only start if guide deviation' check box.
But it looks like every time when I (re)start Kstars/Ekos/INDI, the setting is disabled by default.
Even double clicking my saved sequences, enabling the guide deviation option and saving the sequences doesn't help.
But can someone indicate how to save the checkbox "Only start if guide deviation' check box" ?
It looks like every time when (re)start Kstars/Ekos/INDI is (re)started, the setting is disabled by default.
Fitchie,
This is something that is stored in the .esq (capture sequence) file, so save the .esq file after you set the checkbox.
I believe it applies to all rows.
If you look at your saved .esq file as a text file, you should find it near the top of the file.
When you re-load the .esq file you should see the setting re-established.
Hy
So it is in the sequence file after all.
I'm in the middle of an acquisition run now, but I'll definitely test it again tomorrow and I'll let you if it works.
Hi all,
if I may interject, I think this option should really be moved from the sequence editor to either the capture or guiding interface.
Waiting for the guide to settle after a calibration could be needed in plenty more scenarios that don't necessarily include the sequence generator.
Case in point, I never use the sequence generator, I have little time to take pics, and when I do I just configure the capture module and off I go.
Let me know what you guys think.
