EKOS FITS format versus DSS

Hi,
I was able to record a lot of frames with EKOS and a ZWO ASI 120MC.
The EKOS FITS viewer shows the frames as color pictures. So far so good.

I want to stack all these light frames together with dark frames and use therefore Deep Sky Stacker.
DSS reads the fits frame as a 8bit Gray image while the ZWO provides 12bit output.
First I thought it was a DSS issue but using JImage able to read FITS frames it also shows a black and white picture.
Any idea what is going wrong, or may be a suggestion for a Linux based stacking software?
Thanks a lot,

Stefan

It's a bayered image so it has to be "debayered" so you can see it in color. I use PixInsight myself for all processing.

Indeed Jasem. PixInsight is a fantastic tool offering a lot of possibilities.
I tried the Debayering and that works in PixInsight. Problem is that PI uses the XISF format that is not known by DSS.
Thanks for the help!!!

You can save in any format in PixInsight, they prefer XISF but you can save in FITS or whatever format you like.
