Baader Diamond Steeltrack - position readout fail

Baader Diamond Steeltrack - position readout fail was created by Vincent Groenewold

So just got my Baader Diamond steeldrive and at least when connected to the RPi, works straight away! Very happy with that. However, when I move to a certain position, Indi is unable to read the actual position value. UpdatePosition: failed to read is what's in the log files.

Any idea as to what that might be?

Attach log anyway. It reads initial position fine then later on it fails to read all the time? or intermittent fails?

Doesn't really mention a position, just what I give as preset value.

Please attach the log file for your driver as described in Read Before You Post Any Support Request . If there is a Verbose checkbox available under Logging Levels, please also check it. You need to enable logging before connecting to your device from the INDI Control Panel.

The driver frequency is 500ms, and timeout is 1 second, but still it refuses to report position until motion is done. You sure you have enough power to it? Also, can you find the official documentation for the commands? I wrote the driver based on commands from an INDI user (flicker09), but would like to see the official docs anyway.

Those commands are not in the provided documentation, but I'll have a look for them. Power could be an issue, I just connected it to the PI and don't have the 1A output change activated. However it moved just fine so I thought that would be good enough in my test-rig. I'll connect it to a powered USB first and test again.
