[SOLVED] EQMOD remote connection issue #18094
Dear all,
I'm a new user and I have been trying indiserver with a Celestron LCM mount for test, and some qhy and sx cameras, with fine results.
Now I am testing conection of Synscan mount through eqmod with a pc direct usb cable. In local connection in my computer it works fine (there was a problem with user permissions but it was fixed with adduser command).

Now I've connected USB cable to an orangepi pc-plus (wich worked fine with cameras and Celestron CGEM and LCM mounts), I start indiserver with indi_eqmod_telescope, start EKOS in my client laptop, start INDI, and when I'm connecting, it fails and shows the error message:

2017-07-24T12:24:31: Communication with /dev/ttyUSB0 @ 9600 failed. Starting Auto Search...
2017-07-24T12:24:31: Error: -> tty read failed, check connection: Timeout error

Orangepi pc-plus runs armbian, and my laptop uses linux mint, with KstarsVersion 2.2.0
Using KDE Development Platform 4.13.3. I've made adduser to try in case an user permission were the problem, but not worked. I tryied to solve it changing to another port, from USB0 to USB1, but it didn't work.
I attach log.

Best regards
Miguel

No log is attached. Also, why are you using a very old KStars version?

So the exact setup works fine on Desktop but not on Orange Pi? Do you have a regular Pi to test on?

Hi,
I have tested in another pi orange board, in this case an orangepi lite, with armbian, and it's working in remote mode. I'll test the rpi.

Regards.

[SOLVED] EQMOD remote connection issue #18111
Hi,
Looking at the log, it seems you have a bugged version of the indi eqmod driver which appears some time ago.
DEBUG	139.213261 sec	: Trying connection to /dev/ttyUSB1 @ 9600 ...
DEBUG	139.213430 sec	: Connecting to /dev/ttyUSB1
DEBUG	139.227043 sec	: Port FD 8
DEBUG	139.227580 sec	: Connection successful, attempting handshake...
COMM	139.228293 sec	: dispatch_command: ":", 2 bytes written
The mount seems to be on ttyUSB1 but the sent command is wrong anyway: it should be ":e1" and not ":" only.
Try to update your indi version on your orange pi with a newer version.
Regards.

Thanks for the advice, I'll check it and I'll update library..
That orangepi board must be in lack of updates. In the other hand, raspberry pi2, orangepi Lite and a second orange pi pcplus allow remote connection of an eqmod telescope.

Miguel

I've change OS to the last Linux Mint and updated Kstars. Now it runs smooth.
