I ended up figuring this out - for anyone that needs it in the future.

If you go to "capture settings" in the indi settings in ekos (where you connect the dmk camera) , you just need to select the correct chip dimensions (ekos should detect it correctly here) and frame rate and it will work just fine.
then, in the camera tab where you take images, you can increase the image size from 640x480 to whatever the read chip size is.

Hi all,

I am using a DMK camera for guiding with ekos in kstars. when i connect the camera, it shows me the wrong chip size , 640x480 where the camera is actually a 1440x1080 chip.

When i go into the indi settings in ekos and manually change it , it will update in the camera tab, however, when i go to take an image , the camera driver crashes.

If the keep the chip size at 640x480, it appears to zoom in on the star field as if it is not using the entire chip info.

Is anyone else having this problem with the dmks? its driving me insane

cheers,
