You should be able to define a udev rule to automatically map ttyACM to ttyUSB when the AM5 is plugged in. wiki.archlinux.org/title/udev gives an example.

Sleepless nights from the polar align in EKOS.

Onstep EQ5 mount, set as LX200 in INDI.

My workflow is as follows:

  • Standard visual polar align with the polar scope
  • Do a one, two or three star align, by initiating the align in the INDI panel, and use the mount model tool on the Align tab. Slews in the right direction, plate solves fine. Save the align in the INDI panel.
  • From this moment on everything works fine. Goto works, the scope’s location on the screen matches the movements my mount is making. Automatic meridian flip works brilliantly.
  • From my last alignment star, near the meridian, I wanted do to a polar align with the PA module to check my initial visual PA. So from a star near the meridian, I initiate the PA slewing East. But the mount slews West, totally ignores the meridian. The PA procedure stops after trying to plate solve the 2nd image. Again movement of the scope on the screen matched the reality.

Replayed everything using simulators, worked as intended.

This is an old post, with no replies. Anyone has a solution to this issue?

Just installed Onstep on my EQ5 mount, LX200 indi driver, and everything works fine in Ekos. I can park/unpark, goto, automated mount model update, all works fine.

Just when I try to polar align using Ekos, it slews in the wrong direction and aborts the PA.

On the Kstars starmap, the mount position is displayed correctly. Even when it slews in the wrong direction.

No just the full indi-3rd-party set. I’ll give it a try.

The installed version of Indi was 2.0.0, shouldn’t it have worked without compiling the GitHub code? And what about the ASI120MM mini mono, it’s only €50 more, would that work out of the box?

I just downloaded the indi-3rd-party drivers from GitHub, compiled and installed (latest Ubuntu on old laptop), and afterwards I was able to select the SV905C camera.

Still crashed though as soon as I tried to connect, with the error that the SV305 driver crashed.

Apparently some people get the SC905C to work, but for some reason I cannot. Crashes at the very first instance, log file doesn’t say much. Still another 25 days to return the thing to Amazon, unless I solve this.
