I had the same behaviour in some previous versions of KStars. Maybe it has to do with some proprietary features in this driver that needs to connect to some of the local daemons on the StarGO2 Controller/RPi4 (acc. to Peter from the INDIGO project). I have to see if it works on recent StellaMate releases.

I checked the CMakeList and indeed, the AvalonUD is enabled/active.
option(WITH_AVALONUD "Install AvalonUD Drivers" On)In EKOS, it keeps showing as an external source/driver, which is a bit confusing for me. See screenshot below.
So, I will rerun the tests soon and see if the problem with the calls to the mount from KStars are related to a different issue.

I tried once to build the 3rd party INDI driver myself but ran into a bunch of error messages. Then I realized that some of tve LINUX distributions of KStars come with the drivers already compiled and readily available.
Is the same possible for KStars on macOS? Of course it would make the package bigger because of all the extra libraries. But it would extend the usability of the KStars on the Mac.

As stated above in Rob's post, version 3.7 works on macOS 14.x (Sonoma) and likely also only on Macs with -Silicon (M1, M2, M3).

On my MBP / M1Pro on macOS 14.4.1. (Sonoma), KStars worked right out off the box. No terminal command or anything else to change or fix. From the Application folder.

I will try to go back to the previous version using TimeMachine.
While being on the KStars macOS subject. I have an Avalon StarGO2 mount. Avalon Instruments recently release the new "3rd party AvalonUD" driver for INDI 2.0.x. I noticed these drivers are not installed on macOS with KStars. Is there an easy way to get these with KStars?
I can use the remote drivers on the StarGO2 RPi4, but it would be good to have them installed as well locally on macOS.
