Problem with mirror lockup with Canon 350D

Problem with mirror lockup with Canon 350D was created by Camiel Severijns

I have tried to image with my Canon 350D while mirror lockup is enable a few
seconds before the actual exposure starts which is a new feature of the gphoto driver.
This camera needs an USB to serial port device to control the exposure and
mirror lock up. I can hear that the mirror is being locked in the up position
but the exposure itself never starts. Does anyone noticed this problem too?

Yes, I have. Tried it just now and it works without problems. I am not sure what caused the problem before since I have not changed any settings on my camera.
