Black border on 2 sides of MicroLine CCD - engineering pixels?

I'm imaging with an FLI MicroLine camera with a Kodak 1001E sensor.

According to the pdf of the sensor:
The pixels are arranged in a 1024 (H) × 1024 (V) array; an additional 12 columns (4 at the left and 8 at the right) and 8 rows (4 each at top and bottom) of non-imaging pixels are added as dark reference.

When I take an image in CCDciel with the camera connected to an RPi running INDI 2.0.5, I get a 1024x1024 image with the 8 columns of black pixels on the left, and 4 rows of black pixels on the top, which are the non-imaging pixels.

If I try to set the imaging area as 8, 4, 1024, 1024, INDI gives me an out-of-bounds error, since it reads the sensor as only 1024x1024.

Has anyone seen this, or know how to fix it?

You might consider opening an github issue here:

github.com/indilib/indi/issues/

Seach through the issues first.

Good luck. If you use pixinsight, using autocrop in WBPP I think will crop out stuff like this (as a workaround)
