Starlight CCD Crash & AO Crash #23523
I suppose indilib is undergoing some deep changes, isn't it?
It is my only explanation for the the following new quirks, I'm experiencing with the latest build of Indilib.
1. "indi_sx_ccd" gets down with the Starlight Trius SX-H35 and
2. "indi_sx_ao" can't connect anymore to the adaptive optics.
As you see in the logs, the guiding cam Starlight LodestarX2 gets connected, whereas the Trius is not.

in the past these devices where always working flawlessly and unimpeachable. What is happening now?

I'm happy for your help
Toni

HI, I also have a problem with indi_sx_ccd for my lodestar guider since this weekend (it was working ok previously), and there has been an indi update (don't know if included it). I see with dmesg that lodestar usb driver connect correctly, but kstars through this pop window:
"KStars detected INDI driver indi_sx_ccd crashed. Please check INDI server log in the Device Manager"
I did and this is the log:

Yes, yesterday I was imaging using SGP and afterwards tried an update for INDI just to test again, now the Lodestar and DSLR simply crashed immediately exactly like your situation. Not sure what's going on, but I'm putting INDI on the side for a minute.

The problem is with Launchpad and how the packages don't have versioned dependencies. Recently many of the base classes in INDI have changed, INDICCD quite frequently, and if 3rd-party driver like SX hasn't been compiled with exact same version there is going to be trouble as SX driver would be using different version of the base class than actually is there when both are installed. I'm compiling the drivers myself so everything is in sync (just need to compile base indilib first before 3rd party drivers) and haven't had any issues even during this recent turmoil. So it's essentially a PPA issue, packages should be all be built from exact same commit, which isn't always the case currently.

Remote observatory running Ubuntu 19.10 x64 with ScopeDome 2M, Skywatcher EQ8 and HEQ5, TS 8" RC, Atik 383L+, ASI178MC, ASI120MM-S, SX Lodestar X2, SX USB wheel with OAG, ZWO EAF, USB_Focus V3, Gemini SnapCap, USB_DewPoint, KomaHub

This has stopped SX and QSI cameras, both now cause aborts.

PPA is rebuilding the packages so most of these issues are solved. I think the long term solution is to have a stable PPA and a nightly unstable PPA. I have also been experimenting with snaps recently so might take this route but there are still a few issues with the snap support.

All back to normal!!
Most recent PPA-Version works with the SX-Cameras and SX-Adaptive-Optics. What a relief!
Many, many thanks to Jasem: Great work!:woohoo:
I hope you can follow the path for a stable PPA. Nevertheless it seems that I have to go into compiling the source code myself, as I always wanted.
Sincerly
Antonio

Hmmm, my SXVR M25c camera does not work properly with the SX driver, have spent hours trying to solve, and now seems like a driver sensor readout issue....

Hello,

I upgraded the SX driver on my rpi and I have the same issue:
2019-09-26T21:25:52: Driver indi_sx_ccd: indi_sx_ccd: symbol lookup error: indi_sx_ccd: undefined symbol: _ZThn4632_N4INDI3CCD13GuideCompleteE12INDI_EQ_AXIS

How do I fix that? (new moon this week-end)

Thanks!
Regards,
Florian

That's a build issue. What OS is that exactly? Stable or Nightly or from source?
