Would updating Astroberry update these files, or is this additional data that must be added? I'm just trying to piece all this stuff together. :)

I've updated it now in both the official INDI PPA and also in StellarMate. Please update.

Ok... updated the gphoto drivers to the latest version as per instructions here. just replace the package version with the latest.

upgraded libgphoto to version 2.5.25

However, Kstars crashes saying "could not find" indi_gphoto" or something like that. Reinstalling indi_gphoto from APT fixes that problem.

However libgphoto is back to version 2.5.24.1

How do I upgrade libgphoto to the latest version without breaking Kstars / Ekos

"You check camera compatibility here"

Yeah I guess I'm SOL on using my M4/3 cameras. I'll just have use an intervalometer and be done with it.

Given that I am still struggling to get a "Supported" camera work, I would agree with you :P

One thing I have learnt from all of this is that the CaNikon eco system is the most widely supported . Everything else is hack / port which may or may not work.

Run Rob Lancaster's AstroPi install script, the setupAstroRaspbianPi.sh one.

Make sure it's selecting the latest sources.

Nope. Did not do the trick.

Started off with a clean image and ran the script. Chose Option 1 for Kstars (Latest Master ) and ended up with libgphoto2-6 version 2.5.22-3.

How do I get the latest version with the libgphoto2 version 2.5.25 ?

edit: No luck with Option 4 too.

Tried running Rob Lancaster's script on a fresh image of Ubuntu + Mate Desktop, but I still ended up with the older version of the libgphoto2 driver. However, I was able to update to the latest driver version with Synaptics; and it works now :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

The desktop is awfully slow though, and this is over a wired connection + VNC.

Any tips to speed up the overall desktop experience in Ubuntu?

Will also try using synaptics to update the driver in Raspian and report back
