Can't get into focus anymore #60155
Since a few days i can get into focus anymore whatever i try.
As i look at the v-curve diagram it looks like there is slippage in the focusser.
Anybody have another clue?

Do you have logs? Did you analyse them with the new logs analyser module? Perhaps there it shows what’s happening. Also, did tou try another algorithm than linear?

This looks similar (but worse) than my plot when my allen screws were slightly loose on my Pegasus Astro Fouscube V2 coupler for the focus spindle. In my case I would get a plausible 1st pass, but then the 2nd pass would be offset and not V shaped.

On first glance, your HFR values are outrageously large. I think all the algorithms struggle with donuts (i.e. focus so far out that it's hard to tell what direction to go). I would recommend a manual search (first time is always the hardest) through the focus range, watching how HFR changes. When you finally find a good starting point, then run the algorithm (which ever you use, but I recommend linear) again. I wouldn't consider running the algorithm at all until you get inside of HFR=3 or better. You could have a HW problem, but the SW will not like those HFR values....

I have tried other algoritmes but with no effect.
My focusser goes from 0 (full inward) to 100000 (full outward).
When i go to 50000 thru Ekos where my infocus normally was and i try autofocus then i eventually end up around 10000.
Then when i look at my focusser then i see the focusser at around 40000!!! So i thing it must be something like slippage.
I wil look at it today and hopefully i can image tonight.

Today during daylight i could get a good look at the focusser and there were indeed some allen screw a bit loose.
I saw while the focusser motor was running that the tube sometimes was not moving as if it was slipping.

Now the allen screw are tightend all seems to be ok.

The proof of the pudding i will see tonight.
