KSTARS is damaged on Binary factory.KDE was created by Peter Kennett

The latest versions of KStars OSX on the binary factory fail to launch.
The latest "release" and "nightly" download fine - but when I launch them on my Mac I get an error that they are DAMAGED.



I am using the same Mac with OS Catalina (10.15.7) as before. I have never seen a "damaged" file error before with KStars.

The failed files are from AUG 18 only.

I get the same response using Sonoma 14.0 Beta (23A5312d), so it's likely a build error.

I just downloaded the 8/20/23 nightly build (#1988) and I'm still getting the file damaged error - just FYI.

Yes, I’m still having this problem as well. Does anyone know of a link to a previous version - maybe 3.6.5? It would great to be able to use something in the meantime…

Hi Peter,
I was referring to a nightly build from July 24th that you mentioned works well. It seems I can only go as far back as the aug 15th build. Am I misunderstanding? I was hoping to be able to use an older version of Kstars until they fix this issue they are having with 3.6.6

Hi Eli,

Have the same problem with the amount of history they keep. If you don't mind running 3.6.0, I was able to find a site that keeps KStars history. I downloaded it and, after usual Apple security dance, it launched without problem:

It is frustrating that the developers can't seem to have a download that works for the past couple of weeks.
