Absolutely! All previous kstars versions are always available hosted on the indi website going back for a decent number of Versions.

www.indilib.org/jdownloads/kstars/kstars-3.7.0.dmg

You can just edit the numbers at the end of this download link and you should get the older versions. I am not sure if Jasem has a list somewhere. I do have a bunch of the dmg files that I built over the years archived if one or more are no longer hosted there, but the last time I checked, a bunch were there.

Thank you, for figuring out and acknowledging the issue. There is bad weather here now anyway ;-).

I can confirm, KStars 3.7.0 runs just fine on my MBP - M1Pro - Sonoma 14.4.1, but not on my older Intel-iMac with Ventura 13.6.6.

I will try to go back to the previous version using TimeMachine.

While being on the KStars macOS subject. I have an Avalon StarGO2 mount. Avalon Instruments recently release the new "INDI 3rd party AvalonUD" driver for INDI 2.0.x. I noticed these drivers are not installed on macOS with KStars, although they are part of the INDI repository. They can be installed on LINUX-based systems like StellaMate or via a local compilation script. Is there an easy way to get these with KStars?
I can use the remote drivers on the StarGO2 RPi4, but it would be good to have them installed as well locally on macOS.

Hello Rob my name is Ettore.
I had the astrofilo66 account now banned and I don't know the reason, I wrote an email to Jasem two weeks ago without getting a response. I have a Mac with Sonoma but Kstars 3.7.0 doesn't start, it says corrupt file

Do you have a screenshot of the dialog? I haven't heard of "corrupt file" before as an error. Did it maybe download incorrectly? You might try downloading the DMG again.

I got the same message when I too tried to install on Sonoma. I thought my download was bad so I downloaded a new one - same result. I then found a fix online that blocks the Mac from issuing that warning (it was a command in the terminal, but I forgot what it was). That fixed it and it installed fine after- so the install file isn’t corrupted.

I reported this in earlier posts. I got the same error installing the 3.6.8 beta and 3.7.

After telling settings security, to open it, I 'got around it' with 3.7 by dragging 3.7 'to the desktop' instead of in the Mac applications folder. No idea why that works. Then found all the INDI drivers in the Kstars MacOS directory were 'corrupt' - I presume it copied in from the beta version so deleted all in the directory and reinstalled 3.7 - Sonoma on M1 Mac. It was all part of 'the disaster' of 3.8.9 beta, but now 3.7 seems to work.

On my MBP / M1Pro on macOS 14.4.1. (Sonoma), KStars 3.7. worked right out off the box (using the right mouse click + open procedure to start it up). No terminal command or anything else to change or fix. From the Application folder.

Might be an issue with those using INTEL Macs and Sonoma.
I'm running Sonima on an old 2012 Intel Mac and had to use the above "xattr -cr" remove attributes command.

It still doesn't work 3.7 on my OSX, I had to go back to 3.6.8 stable or my Windows (yuck)

As stated above in Rob's post, version 3.7 only works on macOS 14.x (Sonoma) and likely also only on Macs with -Silicon (M1, M2, M3).
