I see, I ran xplanet from the terminal and it set planet Earth to my desktop. However, this doesn't work from Kstars.
Can you share your settings please?

I have that set as well - strange. I don't have nearly as many xml files as you, either - I only have

You can copy all the xml files from the indi git repo.

GSC is installe, I suppose it's working correctly, tested it following the instructions at www.indilib.org/support/tutorials/139-in...on-raspberry-pi.html

OK - this is really strange -

when I use the keyboard shortcut or the menu item to start Ekos, I get the
Unable to find INDI server. Please make sure the package that provides the 'indiserver' binary is installed.

When I use the "toggle Ekos" menu bar icon, it does open Ekos. However - when I try to start the server with the simulators, I get a similar error for the first thing in the equipment list:
Driver indi_simulator_telescope was not found on the system. Please make sure the package that provides the 'indi_simulator_telescope' binary is installed.

Something is really out of whack with my system- it is in the same dir as the indiserver!

Now that you guys are up and running, we should look back on how the instructions can be improved, which I think you are already doing.

But also, if you can, could you please see if you can find any more bugs in running this on OS X?

I fixed the icons problem already I think, but I just found a couple last week that I had missed. So if you see any buttons without icons, we need to fix it.

I mostly fixed the problem with the windows going behind the kstars main window. I had to use "stay on top" window flags to make it work due to some bug in OS X QT. The one problem with that is that I could not correct several windows because I don't have access to them since they are built into KDE, rather than being in KStars code. These are the problematic windows: About KStars, CONFIGURE TOOLBARS, BUG REPORT, ABOUT KDE, WHATS INTERESTING, and TIP OF THE DAY.

The problem with the Download New Data is still being worked on as you probably figured out from my posts before.

I had also fixed several other problems which should no longer be any issue.

I just noticed that the constellation art doesn't appear to load, so I will need to look into that.

You will know if GSC is working. Try taking an image with the simulator CCD. You should see stars. If you see no stars, its not working.
