Just to confirm, SM does run fine on 2 separate machines. I had to change the host names to get them to both appear within the app, however I tend to revert back to VNC so doesn't affect me.

Very pleased with the near seamless experience so far.

Thanks for the suggestions all. I don't think it's a balance issue as it happens regardless of the OTA mounted.

I have now upgraded to latest Stellarmate version and this seems to have ironed out the issue in any case.

Solid suggestions John, thanks.

I actually purchased the Stellarmate OS yesterday, so will experiment once I'm up and running to see if the issue is still there with a new installation.

Thanks for your time!

Hi John,

Also no Alt limits set.

Interesting, I hadn't considered the potential for conflicts between the 2 instances. I'm using RealVNC at the moment, I assume this would still work in the same way?

Hi,

I'm looking to move away from Astroberry and am torn between the AstroArch offering or stellarmate. While I don't mind paying for a solution, with 2 scopes running, I begrudge paying twice.

So If I were to purchase Stellarmate OS, could I run this on 2 seperate Pis simultaneously?

Apologies if this has already been answered,, I couldn't find any details through the search or FAQs on the stellarmate website.

I'm one of those people still trying to use Astroberry - I had no idea it wasn't being maintained any longer.

Looks like it's time to try out AstroArch!

Hi All,

I'm running Kstars/Ekos via an Astroberry installation (which I understand is quite outdated) with an EQ6-R Mount, using EQ-Mod, and have a torrid time with MF. I have it set to flip at 3 degrees past HA, however what happens is:

*Waiting for exposure to finish
*Meridian Flip Initiated <

It does perform a flip
*Plate solving
*Slew to target <
This is where the issues happen

Whatever I do, the mount will not slew to the target. It'll slew past it, but not to it, it feels as though there is a limit set somewhere that stops it however I have HA limits disabled on the mount tab. It generally happens close to zenith.

Is there another limit set somewhere that I can't see here? Would this be solved by migrating to the AstroArch distribution I've seen posted elsewhere?

Hello all.

I built a dew heater controller a while ago, using pins from a RPI 4 (also running kstars/ekos), DS18B20 temperature sensors, openweathermap api and node-red to bring it all together.

Does anyone know of a driver that could interact with node-red, or would I be better off modifying my build to use one of the arduino builds I've seen if i want ekos control?

Hi all,

For context:
Mount - EQ5
Guide Cam - QHY5-L-II
Image Camera - Modded 1100D

The issue I'm having is that my captured images alternate between 4290x2856 and 4272x2848 with each exposure. which is leading to problems with stacking. Until I started plate solving, I;d never noticed this issue before, and during an imaging session last night, I noticed it happening again so decided to do some tests.

Plate solving seems to be the trigger - if I run a set of images after platesolving, they alternate - if i restart after platesolving, all runs as expected.

What is happening here? It's not a critical fault, as I can get around it by restarting, but if I forget, I effectively lose half my data,

Thoughts??
